Day 1

Well after a great flight in Virgins Upper Class, we landed at LAX airport and flowed through what is normally a tough customs, and picked up our luggage almost straight away, so looking good so far, well we did make a slight mistake and got on the wrong Car rental bus but realised just in time. We picked up our 4×4 Toyota, which is huge and will no doubt handle all that we can throw at it over the next 3 weeks. After a short 20 minute journey we arrived at our hotel which is well situated on Long Beach. It was now getting late and we were very tired so we didn’t bother showering and went straight out for some food. We crossed the street to a marina complex and settled for Boston Market Pasta/Pizza restaurant which hit the spot. Then after resisting our bed for a while after we headed back to the hotel for a well deserved shower and sleep. A great first day.
