Day 10

OK yet another restful night thanks to our neighbours, so we were happy to get out of town early this morning especially as we were heading to Death Valley and we wanted to see as much of it as possible before it got too hot. Last night we ate in a nice fine dining restaurant called Seasons which was lovely. Ok the drive to Death Valley was going to take about 90 minutes so we had a quick McDonald’s breakfast and headed off. The temperature was creeping up again, and by the time we got there it was around 100 Deg. So leaving early didn’t make any difference. But it was quiet which was good. The scenery is fantastic, very stark and the colours of the rocks are amazing. We went to Furnace Creek where we were surprised to see a golf course and even more surprised to see it was green and lush. From there we went to Zabriskie Point. This was cool (sorry wrong choice of phrase) it was bloody hot sweltering in fact, we were only out of the car for about 7 minutes and we were exhausted. So we retreated to the car again and the AC to cool down and then on to the next and final place in Death Valley. Dante’s View this meant diverting away from the main road for 13 miles, but the trip was worth it. The view was amazing. So after we were all viewed out we headed to our next destination on our trip. Pahrump in Nevada. This is a ideal stop off point for us as we are going to be in Las Vegas tomorrow and Pahrump is only about an hour away. We have a great suite in the Best Western and the place has a pool so we are going to chill out this afternoon, but not before we go to Wal Mart to stock up on vital provisions. Tonight we will eat at Wulfys here at the hotel.
