Day 2 Ocean Cay
Well after a great nights sleep in our sumptuous bed we woke up at around 9am this morning and got ready to have breakfast in the dedicated restaurant. We got ready and walked the 50ft to the dining room and was sat next to the window with great views of Ocean Cay, not this island is MSC very own island and is not shared with any other cruise lines, its a huge island and can easily cater for 2 ships. We had a typical fry up and then took some pictures from outside to get the best views, the weather was a little cloudy but warm in the low 70’s which was really nice.
We headed back to the room and got our stuff together and walked to the concierge desk and they called for a butler to escort us to the island, it was very windy off the ship but in no time we were waiting for the shuttle to take us to the dedicated portion of the island reserved for Yacht Club members, it took around 6 minutes and we got to see a large part of the island its very plush and with only a handful of guests to cater for it was not fully open, but out little beach was nice but the sea was a bit choppy we settled down for the day and had waiter service on the beach which was nice and eventually at around 1:30pm we decided to go for lunch but the restaurant was very busy and sitting outside was going to be too windy so we waited for the shuttle and headed back towards the ship, we got dropped of by the lighthouse and had a look there, they have a nice bar there also and great views of our ship. We didn’t have a drink and walked back to the ship and went straight up to deck 20 and our private pool area for a late lunch and sunbathe. The sun-beds there are amazing really comfortable and thick cushions. It got a bit more cloudy and a little cooler but is was so nice we nearly fell asleep, but they started to play some light music so we decided to have one more drink at the bar and then head back to the room, we did have a little sit in the hot tub and after we dried off went down to our room.
We got ourselves ready for around 7pm for our evening meal as Lorna wanted to drag me to another show tonight (cant wait)
We walked up to the restaurant and sat down at a nice table it was a very busy and tonight it proved to be a long service, it didn’t matter but a little frustrating but it did mean more wine. We eventually walked out at around 8:45pm so we headed down to the Broadway bar to listen to some music before going to the show, I have to say I only go to the shows because Lorna loves them, I guess it was OK but I really was not that impressed, Lorna liked the show so thats all that counts.
We did go back to the Broadway afterwards to see a now trio and had a few Coffee and Chocolate Martinis before going to bed at around 11pm, we got into our room and noticed we were going to lose a a hour tomorrow through a clock change so we ordered room service for breakfast and called it a night.
