Day 27

Today is going to be a fun day, we knew this because we had booked ourselves on Canada’s longest zip line with Ziptrek. We were all going to give it a go, but Ken and Sandy went on the Bear Run and me and Lorna was going to do the Eagle run which has the longest run included. It was going to take about 3 hours in total as the trip meant we were walking through the forest and also we were learning a lot about the natural way in which the forest sustains itself and also how the world has changed the this in many ways, the guides James and Rusty were great and made us all feel safe and kept the enjoyment to a high.
We were going to run down 5 lines and walk across 4 suspended bridges at the top of the trees which meant for some great views.
OK enough blabbing, what about the zip lines I hear ya say.
Well the first one we all took pretty cautiously and hands were firmly on the harness but after that it was hands off legs out and go for it. By the time we got to the 4th line which was the longest, we were all feeling pretty good and this run was very fast, and very long, I think the guys said it was the length of 2 Eiffel Towers and we would get to speeds of about 80km. The last run was freestyle, this meant we now had an opportunity to go upside down with arms fully stretched out. This was a real leap of faith but we both did it and loved every second. We would definitely recommend this to everyone coming to Whistler and do the Eagle run. The guys were great and you learn quite a bot during the process. When we got to the bottom Ken & Sandy were in the shop looking at their photos and they loved the Bear run also, we were not sure about Sandy but she said she would do it again so fair play to the both of them.
After, we had a late lunch and a beer and walked around town, the weather was great today and we wanted to make the best of it. Its our last full day in Whistler and we have really enjoyed it here. Tomorrow we are off to Vancouver and the last leg of our month long trip.
