Jan 9th. Day 4 Costa Maya

We arrived early to Costa Maya in Mexico this morning whilst we slept, today we have arranged a tour with the ship to go to a beach with drinks included and transfers, well as we have got so used to our new swanky ship we were quite surprised when we got off the ship this morning to board our party bus to go to a beach along with 1,000’s of other people from other ships and destinations. Now not wanting to sound stuck up but bloody hell the sun loungers we were shown to, were on the ground and almost part of the beach. The drinks were watered down and the whole place was just nasty. We made the best of it we could and even moved to a pool area which eventually ended up being worse than the beach because it stunk of sulphur, it was like sun bathing on top of a volcano.
We could stay for 5 hours but Lorna and myself were not digging it and decided we would head back to the ship, Colm and Tamsyn had ordered some food which we avoided and after this we all went back, the good thing was it did include a taxi fare back so we could go when we wanted. We got back to the ship and Lorna and me got some lunch before heading up on deck and the pool for a nice clean and strong drink. After a slightly disappointing port day we went back to the rooms to get ready for tonight, as Colm and me are not keen on the shows we went down to the bar for a drink and waited for the girls to turn up later, now this has become quite common and also something that has become quite common is people thinking me and Colm are a couple, it took a while but we realised when people were passing comments like today when Colm said he had not been to Naples FL that the guy we were talking too said “don’t worry he will take you one day” its funny and we don’t correct them. We ate in the main restaurant tonight and we were not feeling so alive so after another fine meal we decided to call it an early night, tomorrow we are back in Mexico and Cozumel but this time we are going to a resort for the day and are really looking forward to some quality down time in 5 star resort with limited spaces available. Night night.
