Day 5
Today was a full day and we started it early (no change there then) well actually it was the bedside clock’s fault, it said it was 08:50am and we rushed down to breakfast to find out it was 07:50, so with food in our bellies we checked out and packed up the car and then continued to become tourists good and proper. We had a full days pass to go on all the attractions that Niagara Falls has to offer, we decide to do the “behind the falls walk” first which as the name suggests takes us behind the falls and there was also a good viewpoint very close to the edge of the falls, we of course got soaked, from there we went on the bus down the road to the “Maid of the Mist” boat ride that takes you very close to the base of the falls. OMG we really got soaked that time, but it was great, the really good thing was, that for some reason it was not busy so we got through quickly. With what we did yesterday combined with todays activities, we decide that we had seen enough of the Falls and decided to head out of the area and move onto our next destination.
Unfortunately we had to cover the same ground as yesterday back towards Toronto for about 100 miles but then we started up towards Sudbury, but that was going to be too far today thanks to the traffic.
We drove until about 4 ish and with about 150km to go we thought it best to stop off somewhere for the night. The closest town was Parry Sound, we found a reasonable hotel and checked in for the night. We had stopped off en-route for a quick snack so was not going out for anything fancy, so we will probably just grab a pizza and stop in and relax for a change.
Oh just one thing, the speed limits in Canada are 100km add the worst thing is that they are so hot on speeding here they post the fines up on the road, the worst one we saw was 10K if you went 150km thats about 90. Frigging crazy, but not many people blast by us probably because they cant afford the fines.
