Day 5
Our phone rang at 9:15 this morning awaking us from a deep sleep, it was the daily announcement to let us know that our room service was about to be delivered, all very civilised. Anyway today we are in The Cayman Islands and Grand Cayman. The ship was anchored off the the coast and today passengers will be tendered to shore, as mentioned before we were not got go ashore today as we have been here before, so today we are hopefully going to have the ship to ourselves and laze around on deck taking in the sun and hopefully getting a good go on the Flo Rider later on today. We had breakfast in our rooms today and all met up at 10:30 and headed to the top deck. We aimed for the very front of the ship, the girls wanted to sunbathe and Ken and me wanted to chill out in the shade and have a nice little sleep, the only problem was that the weather was not looking that good and a big black cloud was looming, it wasn’t long before the girls were diving out of the rain and joining us, under cover. unfortunately the rain stayed with us at one point we were all getting soaked because the rain was coming in sideways. There was not much we could do but sit it out, apart from a lunch break there was not much we could do today apart from stay dry under cover, it was still warm but not the best of days, it still could have been worse we could be stuck on a beach with no cover at all, we also could see the passengers getting absolutely soaked on the tenders coming back to the ship. When there was a gap in the rain we bolted back to the the rooms at about 3pm to change into dry clothes and then headed back to the top deck to watch us depart from the Caymans.
After we saw the last of the passengers board the ship, it turned about and was on its way to Mexico where we dock tomorrow in Cozumel, we then went back to the Schooners Inn for a 80’s trivia quiz and a few drinks, today its Halloween and already we are seeing a lot of guests dressed up in various outfits. The quiz was a bot of a disaster because it was mainly about American sitcoms so we didn’t do as feel as we expected. We hope we do better at 7pm when its a 80’s music quiz. So a quick shower and change into formal attire we were ready to head back down to the Schooners Inn for our best chance at glory. The bar was full and we somehow thought we would be up against a lot of US based questions, well we were not wrong we didn’t do as well as we hoped, anyway it was a laugh and took us up to 8:00pm ready for our meal tonight which was going to be in one of the signature restaurants Chops Grill. We were guided to our table which was kind of over hanging the ship which was cool we all had Fillet steak and it was lovely, really nice meal and we only had to pay for the wine because as normally there is a up charge but we got a voucher when we booked the trip. So from here we walked down to the promenade because at 10:15 there was going to be a parade of all the passengers that got dressed up for Halloween. There were some great costumes but we did not expect how many there would be, it took nearly 1 hour for the guests to walk by and by the end we were ready for bed, so another fairly early night at about 11:30, tomorrow is our last day on land in Mexico.
