Jan 11th. Day 6 Grand Cayman

This morning we are in the Cayman Islands namely Grand Cayman. We have an excursion later on today to Stingray City which is a sand bank somewhere out of the bay. We have a tour organised with the ship and it doesn’t start until 2:30pm but as we are moored off the coast it requires tenders to get ashore so we will be leaving at about 1:30. Now today I will not be venturing out, I crashed last night and really don’t think splashing around getting cold and wet is going to help shift what ever it is I have. So we all kind of did our own things this morning and when it was time to leave the ship I handed over the GoPro to Colm and went back to bed not before getting a shot of the guys on the tender heading over to shore.
So for the next bit I am handing over to Lorna to log what happened.
We took the trolly bus to the Marina and boarded our boat to Stingray city which took about 10 mins. It was not busy at all which was great and we all got into the water with face masks so we could see the Stingrays under water. Colm was looking after us girlies as we were quite anxious to start with as the Stingrays were all around our feet. We were then approached by the guy to kiss one, hold one and touch them. Very funny moments for me and Tamsyn who was screaming quite a bit and finding the whole experience quite surreal. Anyway we got loads of pics and video and after about 20 mins decided to re board out boat for a well deserved beer. We got back to the Pier and boarded the Tender back to the ship for a nice hot shower. Steve and Colm met at about 7:15 and went down to Eden for drink and would wait for the girls to turn up after they were ready. Eden is a very popular restaurant and bar and its very, very weird, they have people perform very strange things around the room and they interact with the guests, it was funny because we had a girl just come and sit next to Tamsyn and talk and act very strange, she kept in character despite Tamsyn trying to break her. Having had enough of the surreal goings on, we left.
Tonight we are eating in the main restaurant the “Tuscan” and will be saying goodbye to our table servers who have been great this week as tomorrow we are eating in a speciality restaurant for our last meal. 3 of us Beef Wellington and Colm had the Lobster tail all really nice. After this we went off for various photo opportunities and then I said goodnight and let the three walk off. I got back to the room and was going to make a start on todays videos but I had left my glasses in Lorna’s bag so went to bed. About 2pm I could hear them down the corridor and then in crashed Lorna, absolutely smashed. God knows where Colm had taken them but they were going to feel rough tomorrow. Lorna spent most of the night keeping me awake with random bouts of shouting and all sorts of noises. Last full day tomorrow all at sea.
