Jan 4/5th. Pre Cruise update

So after an overnight flight from Las Vegas we arrived in Fort Lauderdale at about 6:30am local time on the 5th, we had booked a hotel room from the day before so we could be sure of a bed as soon as we arrived, so we lugged all the cases to the room set an alarm for 12pm midday and went to bed. Our friends Colm & Tamsyn will be joining us today and will be getting a transfer up from Miami and arriving at around midday. So just before the alarm kicked off we awoke, had a shower and soon got the text message that they were in the tiki bar as their room was not ready yet, so we all met and caught up over a drink, we decided that as they probably would not get into the room till after 3pm we got an Uber down to Fort Lauderdale beach for some drinks and food. We went back to the “Cafe Ibiza” which is where we went a month ago the day before our first cruise, and what was strange is that the ship we was on back then, cruised out of port and we could see it.
It was great to be back in the warm again and after a stop off in Hooters for a quick drink we got another Uber back to the hotel for about 3:30 the guys checked into the room and we all got ready for a meal down the road in a riverside restaurant called “Rendezvous”
It was fine and nice to be eating outside, we all went back to the hotel and had a well deserved sleep.
The next day we wasn’t going to have such a heavy one as we didn’t want to ruin our first day on the cruise so the girls went shopping again, and I went down to Best Buy to get a new GoPro, Colm caught up on some work.
Colm and I went for lunch back at Rendezvous while the girls went to an Outback near to where they were.
Later on we all met up at the tiki bar around the pool and finished off the day drinking too many drinks, so much for best plans and all that.
In the evening it was easy for us to go back down the road to Rendezvous and have a early meal which was nice. We finished off watching a bit of Karaoke in the hotels bar and then off to bed ready for the next day and our cruise.
