Day 21

Well we all woke up quite late today thanks to a wonderful nights sleep, the duplex apartment we are in is dead quiet and the beds were really comfortable, so at about 11:00am we were ready to leave after a breakfast cooked by Sandy, all fed and watered we headed towards Lake Louise which unfortunately was 87km in the wrong direction, we were going to be covering the same ground we travelled yesterday twice, once there and back again. But if there was any doubt it was not going to…

Day 22

Today was going to be a short day as far as driving was concerned, we are going to Banff today for a horse trail and a look around the town and some lunch, well it was only a 30 minute drive today which was great and we were at the base of the trail ready to mount up and head on out for a hour ride. It was funny because there was a horse in the coral that was left on his own and he was getting in a right…

Day 23

Today we checked out of our apartment style suite where we have been for 3 days and headed towards Kamloops, the only problem was that we didn’t realise that it was as far as it was, so we thought that we would try and get at least two thirds of the way and find a town we can settle down for the night. The drive took us into British Columbia and the scenery changed again, more twists and turns which was a nice change. as we left quite late it…

Day 24

Ok this morning after breakfast we checked out of the hotel where we had a lovely room and enjoyed the stay in Revelstoke, we had a little walk around town this morning because the rain stopped but that didn’t last long, so back in the car we headed off for Kamloops, it was going to be a relatively short drive today but the torrential rain slowed us down and it took longer than we expected. We did stop off at a old ghost town exhibit which was really good but…

Day 25

Well we packed up again this morning and loaded up the car and headed for Whistler, this was going to be a bout a 4 hour drive today so not too bad. We did get a bit lost at the start of the journey when the satnav threw a wobbly that added about 50km to the trip. The drive today was lovely all through mountains which took us up and down some really steep roads, there was a few vehicles having braking issues and one RV had crashed into another…

After we got up this morning we had breakfast in a restaurant nearby and then arranged the days activities, firstly we booked our zipline tour for tomorrow and then we noticed the ATV tour so we booked that for this afternoon, its great that we finally have some things to do and we are really looking forward to the ATV tour this afternoon. Because it was getting quite late we headed back to the room and changed our cloths ready for a dusty afternoon. We net up at the meeting…

Day 27

Today is going to be a fun day, we knew this because we had booked ourselves on Canada’s longest zip line with Ziptrek. We were all going to give it a go, but Ken and Sandy went on the Bear Run and me and Lorna was going to do the Eagle run which has the longest run included. It was going to take about 3 hours in total as the trip meant we were walking through the forest and also we were learning a lot about the natural way in…

Day 28

What a difference a day makes. Well today is set to be raining all day in both Whistler and Vancouver which is where we are heading for today. Whistler was such a nice place, it had everything we wanted and hoped for in this holiday, plenty of things to do that suits our needs and all within walking distance, its a shame that the rest of the country was not like Whistler, mind you we would have been broke in about 10 days if it was. OK pretty un eventful…

Day 29

This morning we was pleasantly surprised that the sun was out so we took full advantage of the weather and started out to explore the city. This of course started with breakfast which gave us the energy to walk around town. We basically just walked around and stopped at places that looked interesting, which included Robson, Gastown, Chinatown and the Vancouver convention centre which is where the cruise ships are, there was a Dutch ship in which was going to Alaska and was boarding, Lorna wanted to stay to see…

Day 30

A big day being tourists today, we got ourselves a 2 day “Big Red Bus” pass which picks us up right outside our hotel and takes us all over Vancouver to all the places we wanted to go, we can get on and off when ever we want, and use it all day. We stayed on the bus for a while looking at all the sights and then when we got to Granville Island. Here we got off the bus and had a good look around, the island also has…
