Day 3 Civitavecchia Italy
Good morning from Civitavecchia, don’t ask me to pronounce that. Another lovely sunny day and another port, and this time we have chosen not to get off, as the main excursions are 9 hour round trips mostly to Rome, and as we have been quite recently we couldn’t be bothered to spend 3 hours on a coach. So instead we went to breakfast as usual in the last few minutes allowed and then got prepared for a full day up on the sun deck. Yesterday we had reserved a Cabana for me and Ken which was ready for us when we got there, it was really nice because it was really hot today with little no no wind so the cover was great, until the sun moved round and then it was like an oven, also what happened today, which did actually happen yesterday as well a group of Italians 6 in total were asked to leave the Yacht club area as they were not in fact staying in Yacht Club, 2 of them were and they thought they could sneak in the other 4 but they got caught out but can you believe it they were back again today, they managed to stay for a few hours before they got ejected with the walk of shame. We said if we see them tomorrow try and get in we are going to publicly name and shame them and video the walk of shame. Anyway today was mostly a sit on your arse sort of day with drinks being served throughout, we did have a chat with Mauricio who is the Yacht Clube Director, and he just by chance asked us about our meal last night, so we told him all about it with a tongue in cheek unconcerned way, he was mortified and said he would have a word with the chef which we hoped would not have us marked as the moaning Brits, we really didn’t cause as fuss but he is so great and thanks us for the feedback, They also setup a tent where they offered a free head and neck massage how nice was that. We stayed until 6pm as the ship left the port onwards to our next location which will take us a full day at sea to Palmero. We got back to our suites and there was a nice bottle of Moet Chandon waiting for us with a note from Mauricio thanking us for being onboard, what a lovely touch, so we all got showered and ready for tonights speciality meal and sat and drank to Moet on our balconies before heading down to the bar for pre drinks. We got to the bar at around 7:30 so had an hour to relax and enjoy a few cocktails. It was time to head off to our speciality meal so our butler escorted us to the Teppanyaki, there was only one table with people on so it was going to be all ours, the chef was very entertaining and the food was amazing, we had a great time and was truly stuffed afterwards. We decided to see if we could find a bar that had some live music, the ship seemed fairly busy and all a bit noisy, I have to say that being in the Yacht club has made us all a bit critical, but we found a bar and had a few drinks and watch a guy playing a guitar and singing a few well known songs. It wasn’t long before we were tired and wanted our lovely comfortable beds so we walked back to our rooms and called it a night. Tomorrow we are in Palermo Scicily.
BTW sorry for no videos I have done some but the internet is so slow it not possible to upload them.
