Day 2 Genoa Italy

Good morning from somewhere off the coast of Italy, we are heading to Genoa but wont arrive until around 11am this morning so after last nights heavy drinking we were all grateful for a not so early start to the day. We still needed to be up by 9am if we wanted breakfast in the Yacht club restaurant so we just about made it and had a nice big breakfast to help soak up all of yesterdays alcohol. After breakfast we all freshened up and then showed Ken and Sandy around the ship, while the ship was still in the process of docking. We were in no hurry to get off today as Genoa is also a busy port for new guests arriving and old departing so the exits were very busy. We walked around the ship and realised that its quite a bit different to the Seashore we cruised on in February this year. After the walk around we ended up on the Yacht club pool area and decided to have a few drinks, hair of the dog etc. It was then nearly lunch time so we waited for the lunch menu to be available and had a spot of lunch. The surrounding areas looks really nice and pretty but maybe not a huge amount to see close to the port, we had not arranged any planned excursions today we were just going to get off and have a stroll around and get some photos. Well that was the plan but I had a a rather delicate rear end so I decided not to risk it and stayed onboard while the others went off the ship. It was not long before the others were back, apparently they had a little walk around saw 2 rats and some drug dealers so decided it wasn’t very nice and came back to the ship. We then got our swimmers on and spent the rest of the day up on the pool deck, it wasn’t long before we were sat at the bar and our server Karisma was tasked to make us various cocktails that were not on the menu, all of which were bloody nice and strong, needless to say we were all getting a bit drunk so we halted and sat back down. We were surprised by a mini air show that we assumed were 9 Italian fighter jets who were flying overhead doing formation flying  so that was great to see. Later after showering we were ready for another casual dining night in our restaurant which was a bit of a mess to be honest. We had all ordered soup and fillet steaks all medium , well 2 were fine but the other 2 were very rare, we also had notice there were no potatoes so we sent 2 steaks back and ordered some potatoes, well the potatoes took ages by which time the steaks were finished then the 2 new steaks turned up still rare, but by now it was about 10pm and we were not bothered the other funny thing was we asked for some English mustard, what turned up was home made and bloody horrible certainly not mustard. The girls found this hilarious which was getting noticed as we were the last in the restaurant as usual. So knackered we all decided to call it a night and retire.
