Day 10

We had a great nights sleep last night and the views this morning from our room was fantastic thanks to the sunny weather, the picture on the right was what we could see from our 4th floor city view room ???. We had breakfast in the hotels restaurant and we had woken up a little early thanks to the 1 hour time change so we were going to get to our next destination in good time today which was Winnipeg some 280km away, we set off at about 9:45 and stopped of at a town called Steinbach which is about an hour East of Winnipeg, Now I am not sure of all of the facts because Lorna was checking all this out in her guide book but its something to do with the Mennonites ??, anyway they are a religious cult that came from Poland and Russia and settled in Manitoba and this place we went to today showed some of the original homes and places of work that they lived in, it was actually very good because unlike most interactive tourist spots we were left alone and there was no ropes, so we could walk around the places and touch and interact with everything. It was funny though because about half way through the tour Lorna got 3 Mosquito bites and that was it, she had the fat hump and proceeded to the gift shop to get away from it all, it didn’t stop me from doing the full tour. It was great and funny as well because it seems that as soon as we got into Manitoba we have something to see and do. Seriously anyone thinking of touring Canada, forget the East, fly to Calgary and head West. Anyway afterwards we drove the short trip to Winnipeg where we had arranged a hotel in the centre of the city and perfectly placed for all the shops bars restaurants and bars Oh did I mention bars, yes bars. We got there about 2:45 and went straight out for a late lunch and a drink, but the heavens opened and it poured for a few hours so we stayed for a few more drinks. Tonight we are walking down to a fine dining restaurant, well thats what we are hoping. Time will tell. Well it is Friday night.
