Day 16
Last night we had dinner in the A la Carte restaurant in the Paris Casino/Hotel, the food was lovely (especially the Soufflé) but the service was a bit rushed. On the whole very nice. The one thing about Vegas is that you can look outside your room window and see across the road a Casino you want to visit and think its going to take you 5 minutes walk, But because the casino’s are so large (often covering 2-3 blocks you end up walking for about 20-30 minutes its crazy. This morning we ate at Denny’s and had a great blow-out. For those of you that don’t know, Denny’s is a country wide diner very good value and loads of food. After we filled our guts we walked down to the Wynn Hotel/Casino which is the newest and most expensive Hotel on the Strip (So Far) and we had to have a look inside. Very nice rooms start at about $450 a night and then go through the roof. So after a brief look around we walked back to our hotel. Lorna was just itching to play on the tables so I went up to the room to do some work and left
her at the mercy of the croupiers. Well she didn’t turn up for ages so after finishing some work I went looking for her. I didn’t have to go far. On the first roulette table Lorna was in the middle of a group all hell bent on breaking the bank. Well it didn’t happen. Lorna’s reign of leadership over the house was finally on the sliding slope downwards. Hopefully she can recoup later, after dinner, which will be in the hotels Chinese restaurant. We tried to book a hotel suite that overlooked the Grand Canyon but they could not let us check in until 4pm which is stupid as it starts to get dark at about 4:45 so we will check again tomorrow after 4 to see if anyone is using the room and hopefully book it and get an early check in time.
