Day 41

Well its New Years Eve and we are going to spend it in Phoenix but we had to get there first, we thought it would take about an hour but we then discovered it was 4 hours away and there was a 1 hour time change working against us so we pushed on after a full Denny’s breakfast. On route we heard about a huge range of sand dunes near Gila Bend and thousands of people go there with Dune buggies, Quad bikes etc to blast around and stay in RV’s so we stopped and had a look. It was great there were literally thousands and thousands of RV’s parked up and even more vehicles blasting up and across the
dunes. We couldn’t stop for long, as we didn’t want to get to the hotel too late, as we had to get ready to go out for New Years evening. We finally got to Scottsdale at about 6pm and checked into the Millennium resort and our 3-bed villa, which is fantastic. Then we got ready and got a cab down to the “Scottsdale Block Party”. Which is an organised party over 4 blocks, there are bars, stages and clubs all inside a fenced off area and it was great, well organised and easy to get a drink. So midnight came and went and we were watching the fireworks and having a great time. Then we crashed and burned back at the villa. HAPPY NEW YEAR.
