Day 5 Bahrain
Goods morning from Bahrain yes we arrived at about 8am this morning and myself and Lorna had a early wake up breakfast call so that we can be ready to get off the ship today and head over to a resort for the day, Today we have chosen a onboard excursion to the Ritz Carlton Hotel, we thought it would be best to take no chances with being late or getting into any kind of delays or holdups. We took the coach which took about 45 minute to get there, it was a nice enough drive but the whole country has a dusty covering of sand so is a bit bland, but then you come across the skyscrapers which are amazing. We pulled up and was greeted with some hotels staff who offered us a drink and told us all about the resort and what we had available, which was basically everything and that included a lunch with soft drinks. We walked down to the beach which was really nice but it was a little cloudy and windy and we were not sure if it would prove to be too cold, a guy walked up to us and took our lunch order and gave us a ticket to present at the bar when we chose to eat. We stayed on the beach for about an hour but decided we would probably enjoy it more by the pool with a little more wind protection. It was much better and we settled down until about 12 ish when we decided to go for our lunch. We both had a caesar salad to start followed by baby chicken with fries. The salad was fine but unfortunately my chicken was a bit pink in places so I had them change it out, iot took a long time to get the replacement meal but it was fine and we finished up and settled by the pool for the remaining time we had.
At 2:45pm we packed up and met the other guests to go back to the ship. Pascal and Linda who we had sat at our table the other night was there and we chatted about our day, it took another 45 minutes to get back to the ship and Lorna went to the gym while I carried on with this blog. Tonight we are eating in another speciality restaurant so we will see how works out. Tomorrow we are in Qatar
