Day 6 Doha Qatar

This morning at around 8am we arrived in Qatar and the port of Doha, the weather didn’t look great it was windy and quite cold but it wasn’t raining, now this would not have bothered us normally but we had arranged a self ride cycle tour of the town with the ship and we were meeting at 9am, so all of us had every hope that the weather would gradually get better as the morning moved on so we were in shorts and t shirts the girls did have light jumpers on but we were confident. We were schedules to do a 30km ride today with a group of around 23, Colm and Tamsyn along with 19 other all had electric bikes were we had the conventional huff and puff versions. We didn’t mind as it was going to be flat, so we all got our high vis jackets and helmets and proceeded off the ship to a bus that was waiting for us to take us out of the security of the port. We all were allocated our bikes and were on our way, the ride was really nice if a bit cold especially by the sea, we were told we were not going to the beach today as it would be too windy so out trip was probably cur down a little but either way we really enjoyed it. We stopped of at a shopping area and found a cafe for some hot food and drinks to warm us up, the girls bought so scarfs. As it turned out the trip to the ship from the shops was only about 1o minutes so we were back early but all of us wanted to have a hot shower to get ourselves warm again. Colm and Tamsyn are having there no alcohol night today so we are not sure if we will see them later but for now its catch up on the blog and warm up ready for tonight. More to come
