Day 5 Dominica

Today we woke up in Dominica and unfortunately its one of 3 islands we are visiting that you are not allowed off the ship unless you have a ship arranged excursion, so later today we are off to the rain forest and the waterfalls, and a few stops en-route. So as we were leaving at 1pm we had plenty of time to relax and we all just did our own things until we met at 12:30.
We met at the disembarkation point and got off the ship, the port can only be a makeshift area because it was made up of stacked containers to keep us all in and not wonder off unless we had a designated driver. We waited a while for everyone to arrive and got on a rather old bus, we were surprised to see so many elderly people on this trip as it involved us walking up and down quite a few steps to get to the waterfall base, but first the driver stopped off at a vista point that enabled us to get some nice photos, we then got back on the bus and went to a botanical garden area which was pretty lame apart from the crushed school bus from a tree falling during a hurricane. There was a lot of people practicing for Carnival which was cool. So finally we got back on the bus and started the very long and somewhat hazardous drive to the top of the waterfall. The route was so full of twists and turns I was feeling the motion sickness but eventually we arrived we all walked down the steps to the base and Paul and Lorna decided to get into the water, we Paul got all the way in and under the waterfall Lorna got in half way the rest just watched and took photos. After we walked back up to the bus and headed back to the ship which was quicker but still the same route so very twisty. Today I had decided that today was going to be Alcohol free so after dinner in Amalifi I went back to the room and called it a night. the rest of them went to Princess Live for another quiz, which by all accounts was good and came you guessed it 2nd again. So not a very eventful day but nice to off the ship, Tomorrow we are in Barbados.
