Dec 19th. Day 10 Colorado Springs.

Well as we mentioned last night our sleep was terrible and we had to go down to reception this morning to complain, they were fine and apologetic and moved us to the 4th floor into the Teddy Roosevelt Suite which is a much nicer room, seriously our previous room’s AC when you turned it on it resembled a jet engine. Only time will tell if this new room is OK tonight when we go to bed. But for now we gathered our stuff and moved rooms and then got ready for a day out, this morning we are going to Pikes Peak, its a 14,000ft high mountain that you can drive up and in fact they have a race each year here in summer, but for us the temps started at 46f as we started up the road and by the time we got to the furthest point we were allowed to go too it was 20f and bloody freezing.
We stopped at a cafe for a hot chocolate and some pictures. After a while we decided to drive back down and thanks to the roads not being covered in snow we were down in no time. After this we decided to try and see if Walmart had any plum puddings and Paxo stuffing so we can make our own Christmas dinner but they didn’t know what we were talking about so we came back to the hotel for some lunch. We had a lovely Salad and a few drinks and then we went back to the room to relax as we were really tired no thanks to our bad nights sleep. Tonight we ate in the restaurant at 7:30 and had a lovely meal we were not quite ready for bed as it was still early so we walked down the street into the “Keg” Bar which was not busy but the bartender was talking to a guy dressed in old baseball attire so we thought why not lets find out all about this guy, well his name is Roger and he is a interesting guy who told us all about a book he had written on local baseball then whilst we were chatting with him 2 girls across the way on a high top had told the barman Matt to pour us some shots, so we walked over to them to thanks them and in no time we were all chatting and drinking shots like they were going out of fashion. Then if that wasn’t enough we started to talk to a couple who were playing on the shuffle board Manitou and Leonie, we challenged them to a game so now 6 of them and us 2 getting on really well. Totally sucking at shuffle board I challenged them to a game of Killer. After explaining the rules we were shooting pool and Matt the shark beat us all. We left the bar at around 2:30am totally smashed and crashed into our suite and promptly crashed. A great night a we would like to thank all the guys & Girls for such a great night.
