Jan 2nd. Day 24 Las Vegas

Good morning so today was going to be a fairly restful day but first we needed to get over to the Mandalay Hotel as there is a FedEx office there and my after shave that I left in Texas was there to collect thanks to Brandon & JJ. So this time we walked there on the other side of the road avoiding the cross bridges which helped reduce the amount of walking, so we finally found the office and I was happy I had some smells again. So now some breakfast and we were not messing around like before and went straight to the Irish pub again for some good food, it was more lunch time again but we are getting used to that now. I have not been feeling that great the last few days and I really didn’t want whatever I have to get worse, so we took the tram back to the Excalibur which was free and this kept us inside more and avoiding the cold weather.
We had to be back for 3pm anyway as we both had appointments with the hair salon, or in my case the Barber’s.
We walked down to the salon’s in our hotel and Lorna went off to one place and I was led down to a barber shop that caters for just one client, very cool and free drinks. My hair really needed cutting and I was very glad to come out of there looking better than I had been over the last few weeks. (sorry about that) I popped down to see Lorna and she said she would be a while so I went back up to the room and waited.
Almost 3 hours later she walked into the room happy about her hair but not so happy about the final bill. The total for the both of us was a little over $300 WTF.
Anyway we were now presentable to our public so we decided to go back to the Mandalay and its sister hotel Delano to the Skyfall Lounge. Its on the 64th floor and has fantastic views of the strip, so we walked in, ordered a drink each and asked if we could go outside to take a picture, the server said we could not as it was hard to keep the temperature maintained if the door was opened, I did feel like explaining to the server that did she honestly think we were coming up there to pay double for a drink and not get the view but I held back, finished the drink tried our best to get some photo’s and left, I had heard from the Barber that there was another bar in the Mandalay called The Foundation, so hoping this would not be a bust we went up to the 63rd floor and sure enough the outside terrace was open and we could get some nice photo’s. We did stay for 5-6 drinks and was now really hungry. So satisfied with what we had seen, we went back down to the Irish Bar as they have a live band playing tonight and we love the food.
We got a great High Top right next to the stage and ordered some dinner. We had some really nice food and watched the band for about an hour got some videos and photos and then came back home via the tram again for a fairly late night. Tomorrow is the last day of this trip and we head back over to Fort Lauderdale to meet our friends Colm & Tamsyn to start a 7 day cruise all of which will of course be featured on this website.
