Day 6 Ibiza

Good morning from Sunny Ibiza, today we don’t dock until 11:30am so we had plenty of time to take it easy this morning, Ken and Sandy had there breakfast in the restaurant, but as they stop serving at 9:30 myself and Lorna waited till later and had ours up on deck as they serve it until 11:30am. We docked a little late but we had Raj call our butler to escort us off the ship and onto the carnage that was the taxi rank. With 2 ships and a load of arrogant Spanish/French/Italian guests it was a bit of a free for all despite us being in a queue. It almost got to blows but we stood our ground and got our taxi to a nearby beach that was recommended to us by a friend of Lorna’s. The beach was called Talamanca beach, well when we got there it was horrible, the beach was piled high with seaweed which stank and there were no sun beds at all, so we walked up to the Nobu Hotel, which looked really nice, we asked if we could pay to stay where a lovely lady said yes but it was going to cost a minimum of 300 euros per bed. So with that we asked of she knew of a public beach and she very kindly pointed us towards Nassau Beach club, so another taxi ride away we got there 20 minutes later we were all absolutely roasting as we were sure the taxi had the heated seats on as it felt that hot. Anyway we walked onto the beach which was again piled high with seaweed and the sun-beds were also 400 Euros each. So we though bollocks to this and hailed another taxi back to the ship. All in all Ibiza sucked and was such a shame as we all wanted to go into the sea today but you would come out looking like a sea monster. We got back to the ship at around 2pm and had a late lunch and a few drinks and relaxed by the pool but it was really hot with little to no shade so a bloody hot one. Most of us gave up on sun bathing as there was no relief so we hit the bar and had a few drinks and reflected on how disappointed we all were with the beaches in Ibiza. It was still very hot even in the shade so all headed back to our rooms and opened up a bottle of champagne we had been given ,in fact we had been given 3 bottles over the week and we sat on the balcony as it was in the shade and a lot cooler and looked out to Ibiza. After we all got showered we met in the bar for a little drink then moved up to the restaurant, as usual Alexandru was there with an amazing bottle of red wine and we all had a really nice meal, it was a little more busy then when we first got on, as more guests were arriving as the weather is getting warmer. We didnt have a late one as we were all getting up early tomorrow to go on a planned excursion and needed to be awake by 7:30am so we called it a night at around 11:30pm. Tomorrow we are in Valencia Spain.
