Day 18

Slightly worse for wear we packed our bags checked out and left Las Vegas behind us whilst heading towards the Grand Canyon in Arizona. It was a pleasant surprise that we had to cross over the Hoover Dam en-route to the big hole in the ground. It took a lot longer than we thought virtually 5 hours but the scenery was great and we pushed on to try and get there for a reasonable time and to try and get a sunset at the canyon. Well we checked into a nice hotel and threw the bags in and jumped back in the truck and drove 25 miles to Desert view with just about 20 minutes to spare. Unfortunately the sun dipped behind some clouds but it was still an amazing sight to behold. The canyon is just huge and we are looking forward to tomorrow to get some more photos and maybe a sunrise set of pictures. We ate early as we went without food all day trying to get here on time.
